Building description

There was already a military camp on today's Bem square in Roman times: then Dalmatian and Nordic horsemen were stationed in this area. However, during its centuries-long history, the square has been home to many things: the facilities built here also function as a food warehouse, military hospital, prison, party headquarters, and school.
The simple and simple forms of the period also had an average, eclectic, historicizing public building of the real estate's era.
The multiple reconstructions of the building, with varying standards, had mixed results, and they could hardly find a useful and economically sustainable function for it at the end of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st century. Nor is it that due to the continuous change of ownership, the basic maintenance and maintenance work was not carried out, which led to the rapid destruction of the vacant Radetzky barracks building. The pictures shown here show the neglected state of the building before development.
The building, which is in decent condition, is now being renovated together with Bem tér, the building's most valuable facade, built in classicist style, with historic value, will regain its original decorations after the renovation and restoration; and as a result of the development, the neighborhood can once again become one of the most important hubs in Buda.
